If your bird is not going through a molt but is sleeping a lot during the day, you would be wise to schedule a health and wellness check at your avian vet's office. A bird that is undergoing a seasonal molt requires more sleep than usual and will sleep throughout the day. But, a bird that is going through a molt will use up a lot of energy growing healthy, new feathers.
